I’m writing about this site again. Scroll down through the images and you will see my comments on the content of that site.

Questioning the primary presumptions of modern astronomy and geology:

Early on, that website features the rather mild subject of astronomy, then details the most well-supported speculations about a particular possible sequence of geological history and human history, which include a dramatically different atmosphere on this planet only several thousand years ago (if I understand correctly, within the era of ice ages just before the rise of agriculture and the domestication of animals). That atmosphere naturally presents a dramatically different view of the sky and the author Troy then details the beginning of a cycle in which the earth revolved around the current sun, resulting in the experiencing of cycles of days and nights.

Note that the presumption that day and night just as they are today have been around for 500,000 years or whatever is entirely presumptive.We can see tree rings that evidence cyclic monsoon seasons going back quite a while, but not nearly that far. Consider the claims by non-traditional Egyptologists that the water marks around the base of the Sphinx indicate EITHER that the Sphinx is much older than currently accepted OR there was an actual great deluge or global flood that dramatically exceeds a mere flooding of the Nile.

So, Troy indicates that the “crazy” reports of a geologically recent new “creation” in the Vedic and Hebrew calendars may refer to an actual cosmic shift (astronomical shift) in which the earth’s atmosphere changed and the actual current cycles of celestial lights (like day and night) started to be evident. I agree with him.

The rock art of many thousands of years ago that is spread across the planet (aboriginal America, Australia, Africa, Asia, and Europe) all depict similar patterns. Troy (among many others including me) conclude that the remarkably consistent petroglyphs across the planet depict actual configurations visible in the sky (similar to the aurora borealis or the corona of an eclipse, except much more regular shapes). The shapes changed over time and the changes were recorded on rocks.

What do the letter Psi, Poseidon’s Trident, and the Devil’s Pitchfork have in common?

I assert (and I have never seen this assertion elsewhere) that the same visible celestial forms are the origin of the Greek letter Psi, which is the devil’s pitchfork and the trident of Poseidon and Neptune. When this form showed in the heavens, turbulent waves were thrown in the oceans, along with storms and other weather unfitting to sea travel.

Similar variations show the “evolution” of the Caduceus (familiar as a symbol of the medical profession) in to the shapes we know as angels as well as the feathered serpents and two-headed birds (mostly eagles) of heraldry, the Vatican, the flags of imperial Europe, and secret societies.

Flat Earth: could it have been a functional model?

Another connection which I just realized is that his astronomical sequence explains the common conception of the earth as flat. Because there was no cycle of day and night and the northern hemisphere of the earth was always lit while the southern hemisphere was always barely lit with uninhabitably low temperatures not far south of the equator, the earth was functionally flat- the top half of the sphere was the only relevant terrain to consider for purposes of sailing or walking and so on. So, one could make an “overhead” map from the north pole and see all of the inhabitable earth, with the curvature being generally as irrelevant as the occasional mountain or canyon.

Note the “turtle shell island” analogy famous from Native American lore (in the image below). At the top of the depiction is an all-seeing eye at the top of a triangle, which is consistent with Troy’s assertions about Saturn. This image fits perfectly with the astronomical possibility presented by Troy as well as by the Cherokee “Creation” Myth detailed here:

Of course, the desire to travel far might not have existed then anyway. Nevertheless, the idea that there is an edge beyond which one simply “falls off” would be functionally accurate, like an ice barrier that is always dark. That would be a travel destination to avoid.
Anyway, Troy proceeds to address to origins of human society. He does a decent job, but apparently without insight in to the foundation of what language is and with an anti-authority bias (which could also be called an anti-language or even anti-human and anti-sane bias).
He calls various patterns of human behavior insane. However, systematic insanity that lasts for thousands of years can also be called culture. He gets in to moralizing rather just presenting the anthropology of it all, and that is just an authentic presentation of his thoughts, but lacks the scientific coherence of much of the earlier content.

For instance, in regard to the name of his website, cults (cultures/subcultures) of ritual human sacrifice have consistently persisted for thousands of years: cannibalism, witch hunts, inquisitions, holocausts, aztec rituals of human sacrifice, and modern “judicial” executions to appease public outrage, as well as crusades and holy wars for God and Justice and Love and Liberty and Freedom and, of course, World Peace.

Astrology enthusiasts will recognize that planets has both benevolent and malevolent “periods,” similar to an Old Testament God that is both merciful and wrathful. Further, the word disaster derives from the roots “unfavorable star(s).”

This image (above- suggesting that the constellation Orion is the origin of the shape shown in petroglyphs across the globe) does not really go with the others. I think that fellow is “stretching” a bit with his Orion theory, but it is a nice contrast to this content which for me fits seemlessly together, unlike the Orion theory, which is plausible but just not nearly as good as Troy’s.     The petroglyphs depict Solar CME s /plasma discharge which will happen again and usher in a mass extinction event .

      Plasma? Yes. That is why the petropglyphs of “the squatting man” are pictured with the 2-d plasma forms.

      But was it a solar event? The “Velikosky” hypothesis suggests an isolated case (rather than a regular cycle)… which was NOT solar.

      To the best of my knowledge, the vast preponderance of the evidence supports Velikovsky’s statement. And that statement was generally a re-statement of the various ancient scriptures. Within Hinduism, for instance, there are many very lengthy cycles reported, but also many “unique developments.”

      Of course, various cyclic or unique developments could produce similar plasma formations visible in or from the earth’s atmosphere. Indeed, I have as recently as today seen new photos presented as evidence of a potential “dis-aster” or “cat-aster-rophe” in the very near-future.

      Plus, there is a rather unusual wave of cold in much of the United States this week. Interesting times!
