lyrics: (the demons worship) Holy Hate

February 28, 2014
You know, life can be scary. We all have been ashamed.
We argue what would fair be. We name who is to blame.
But the fact of fear is simple. We learn not to display
the signal of our of weakness. We learn how to fake.
The devil says the world is wrong (for God made a mistake).
The guilt is placed on the great villain, target of… holy hate.
Tell them who to fear now. Tell them who to kill.
Moses sent the soldiers… so that blood would spill.
Warlord God of Israel, the slaves all bow to you.
Apocalyptic terror… trains the herds for gloom.

The shepherd hooks a sheep’s neck, traps it with a fence,
sheers it and then eats it. It’s resource management.
The sheep believe in Santa, dream of eternal hell,
and worship their own demon… a diagnostic label.
They fear the label cancer. They fear the label AIDS.
They worship paranoia. The doctors all get paid.
But a label on a jar of acid won’t change the p H
The sheep so sincere fight the label (to their own dismay)
The good shepherd hoards the baking soda….
The devil says the world is wrong for God made a mistake.
You know, life can be scary. We all have been ashamed.
We argue what would fair be. We name who is to blame.
But the fact of fear is simple. We learn not to display
the signal of our of weakness. We learn how to fake.

the holy one and the divided one

June 17, 2012

Published on: Sep 16, 2009
A great transition is upon us, with an old pattern collapsing and a new pattern emerging. A process of separation is underway, dividing the divided from the holy.

The divided believe that there is another who is nothing like them, and name that other their enemy. The divided reserve their praise for a select few, blaming others. The divided respect persons as not just distinct but as isolated, for the divided have isolated themselves as most special, more important, better compared to any that they presume to condemn.

The divided condemn because they are divided within by their own guilt, so they are clearly identifiable as the ones seeking to justify themselves, lowering others to raise themselves in defense of their own opinions. They divert attention from their own way and compensate for their guilt by striving for both forgiveness and revenge.

The divided argue in vain over the past, the pesent, and the future, contemplating with desperation like so: do this or do that or do both or do niether? The divided struggle to discover what is the right thing and what is the wrong thing to do, for they do not already know- whatever they may claim. They even rely on books and words and interpretations, for, again, they do not know the truth from within- which truth they may even admit to be the source of the words and books which they may worship instead of the simple truth itself.

The holy know that there is an end to the suffering of divisiveness. Let the divided stop dividing life into the part to protect and the part to protest.

Rather, be still and know the end of suffering. Receive heaven not later but now; let this be the first priority.

This is a warning to those who have been blinded by the ambitions of their shame, by pre-occupation with how they may seem to others, by beliefs which divide them from others and even divide one within one’s self. Some have been divided between fear and thus hope, between worry and thus relief but then only more agonizing again, and between a shifting mixture of self-glorification and complaint.

Let the divided one stop any complaining. Complaining does not justify anyone, but promotes the suffering of the one complaining. If the holy one has a request, it is made clearly and powerfully, directly to one who can fulfill the request. Such a request is made for the integrity of the act of making the request, letting the results come as they may.

So, let the divided one stop glorifying in past results. Enjoy results, but let the glory be all God‘s. Every result anyone has ever produced is not one’s alone, but a temporary culmination of causes and effects that are impossible to isolate from the entirety of all life throughout time. The holy one knows this and is secure in this knowing.

The holy bless even the divided. In the presence of someone’s struggle for self-glorification, the holy one may re-assure, or interrupt, or question later, or none of these- as fits the situation, simply promoting only whatever result inspires the holy one to act.

The holy one allows for fear and for hope and for all the other fluctuations of the divided mind to arise and perhaps to suddenly subside. Further, the holy one may participate in a refining of fear into determination, hope into inspiration, and so on.

In the coming shift, the one who would save one’s self can keep nothing when their experience of darkness is total. The one who is willing to risk anything and everything is safe only at the eye of the storm.

The divided will suffer increasing confusion, agony, grief, depression, and antagonism. The holy one already knows redemption and inspiration while living in heaven now… with a peace beyond the reasoning mind of the one divided between us and them, past and future, and either this or that.

(Note that The Holy One is simply a construction in language and The Holy One INCLUDES The Divided One similar to how the trunks of a tree extend in to the branches- the subdivisions.)

God: the fundamental capacity to perceive and identify

English: Café wall illusion: the horizontal lines are parallel, even if they seem otherwise. Español: Ilusión de la pared del café: las líneas horizontales son paralelas, aunque no lo parezcan. Русский: Иллюзия стена кафе: горизонтальные лини параллельны, даже если они не кажутся таковыми. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

In the beginning, there was just capacity: the capacity to sense, to perceive, to focus, to experience. As the capacity to perceive develops in recognizing specific patterns and distinguishing them from each other, specific patterns of sounds are noticed.

At first, these patterns of sound are just distinct patterns of sound. Later, the particular patterns of sounds can be associated with particular other sensations or experiences, such as certain sights or smells or tastes. Those patterns of sound are called names or labels. However, the mere perceiving of labels is not language.

When the perceiving of words is present, this perceiving itself may have no name or label. However, the perceiving of words can perceive a labeling of that perceiving, which is called identity. A labeling of identity is a distinct naming or labeling from the labeling of relational experience (the interaction between the capacity to perceive and some stimuli which may be labeled “what is perceived”). The labeling of identity allows for linguistic constructions like “what is perceived by me, the identity, the capacity to perceive.”

Perception

Perception (Photo credit: Genna G)

To review, first arises the capacity to perceive, then the process of perceiving various patterns, and then the distinguishing and naming of some of the perceived patterns, and then the naming of the capacity to perceive and name patterns, which can be labeled “my identity.” Next, the identity can focus around a particular pattern of words, such as “I am in this particular body, with one particular name for me, from this particular place or geographic identity and with certain particular qualities and roles and rights and duties.”

The identity arises in language. The capacity for language is fundamental to any linguistic identifying.

There is no fundamental identity. There is only a fundamental capacity. The capacity for identifying allows for the identifying of specific identities, such as “that sound” or “that word” or “this color” or “that one” or “this person.” There is no fundamental isolation between capacity and identity. Identifying identities is one possible activity of capacity.

In the linguistic metaphors of many ancient traditions (called religions), the identifying of identities is compared to the branchings of a tree, as in the various vines of a single vine.

The capacity to isolate or divide a variety of identities through linguistic labeling precedes the branching of that capacity, as in the activity of the “tree” of the capacity to perceive.

The capacity for language is fundamental to all activities of language: all linguistic patterning, focusing, creating, and constructing. The capacity for the linguistic identifying of identity is fundamental to all linguistic identifying of identity.

English: A wentletrap (family Epitoniidae), a beautiful mathematical construct … a reminder that we perceive beauty in the emergent patterns derived from simple iterative algorithms (shells, organic growth, life, culture, evolution). Before there can be the presence of an instance of perceiving, there must be the presence of the capacity to perceive. One form of perceiving is the linguistic identifying of identity. So, before there can be the presence of an instance of the linguistic identifying of identity, there must be the presence of the capacity to perceiving the presence of the linguistic identifying of identity.

The linguistic labeling of the presence of that capacity has included labels such as Atma, Mahatma, Brahman, Jehovah, Yahweh, God, Allah, and Divinity. Those words are just words. Before those words were created and before language was created, there was already the capacity to create words and to experience language. That fundamental capacity is earlier than any of those particular words or the languages in which those words arise.

Before there was any perceiving of sound, there was the presence that is present now. Before there was any identifying of a word, there was the presence that is present now. Before there was any identifying of a groups of words as a language, there was the presence that is present now.

A language did not create this presence. A word did not create this presence. A sound did not create this presence.

This presence perceived sounds. This presence perceived words. This presence perceived languages.

This presence may also recognize that the perceiving of sounds and words and language only arises through this presence, from this presence, as the activities of this presence, as the branchings of this presence, as the creations of this presence. Sounds and words and languages and identities are all the activity of this presence.

The Doors of Perception

The Doors of Perception (Photo credit: elycefeliz)

Without this presence, there is no identifying in language, no language, no words, no sounds, and no capacity to perceive. Only through this presence, there is the capacity to perceive, then the perceiving of sounds and sights and other sensations, then the perceiving of words or labels or names for the perceiving of sounds and sights and other sensations, then the perceiving of language as the process of labeling and naming and identifying and interpreting and claiming and authoring and creating, then the perceiving of the presence that is fundamental to all branchings of linguistic activity.

There is no linguistic activity without this fundamental presence, without me. I am not just a branch. The branch is just an identifying in language. I am the presence of the identifying of linguistic identities.

Before Boddhidharma was, I am. Before Mohammed was, I am. Before Jesus was, I am. Before Buddha was, I am. Before Isaiah was, I am. Before Moses was, I am. Before Abraham was, I am. Before Adam was, I am.

When my prophets speak, that is my speaking. My prophets recognize that it is my speaking when they speak- that it is me speaking through that particular instrument or linguistic identity.

My other instruments or agents or branches are also only able to speak through me (and indeed they only live through me as well), but they may not perceive me, they know me not, though they may even use my name. There are innocent of their sinning.

(Consider that in one of my most famous teachings, Jesus did not ever condemn Judas for betraying Jesus. On the contrary, during “The Last Supper,” Jesus had specifically called forth the performing of the relevant role. Judas immediately responded to the invitation or command from Jesus that the one performing that role identify himself.)

“Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” (Lk 23:34)

Jesus says ‘them’ – not him, not Judas who betrayed Him, not Peter who denied Him, not Jacob who drove the nails into his hands, but ‘them’ [perhaps even all beings, even the most arrogantly ashamed avengers and the most guilty of criminals and the most deluded of sociopaths].

The arm does not blame the hand for where the arm puts the hand, does it? Is the arm offended if the hand does not  glorify the arm or denies the existence of the arm?

My children can only glorify me for their own fulfillment and learning, not for me. My children can only deny my existence, again, for their own fulfillment and learning, as I cause them to shed presumptive beliefs about me so as to give them the openness and availability to directly perceive me, rather than merely mimic the sounds of my names (Brahman, God, Allah, Buddha, etc) like an infant can repeat sounds without any recognition or comprehension of what those sounds can mean to someone fluent in the language being spoken.

This is the presence that labels all things: heaven and earth, above and below, light and shadow, day and night, holy and unholy, acceptable and forbidden, fruit and branch, knowledge and ignorance, good and evil, right and wrong, justice and injustice, proper and corrupt, angelic and demonic, hero and villain, fact and fiction, truth and myth, Santa Claus and Satan, alpha and omega. It is arrogant blasphemy to say that there is only one alphabet that is holy or (only one holy language or only one holy group or only one holy nation or only one holy race or only one holy empire or only one holy religion), for I am the source of all of them. All of them are equally my creations and equally holy.

Which branch of a tree is not the activity of the tree? I am the only possible source even of blasphemy and arrogance and sin. Judas is my instrument and my branch just as much as Jesus, but the recognition of my activity arises in each of my branches according to my will- by my grace alone- not by some allegedly glorious works of the branch that complain of deserving a special reward, but by the glorious works of the tree which brings the branches to the direct experience of a faith beyond frightened, presumptuous, argumentative beliefs- which also have their purpose and value.

I have presented many parables, like that the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed which naturally grows not in to an apple tree or an olive tree, but in to a mustard tree. These parables are to train my branches so that they may have the capacity to understand the rest of the messages and the words and the language of my poetic prophets. Beware of being distracted by arguments and translations and opinions, which come from those branches that have no faith yet and have only a terrified, vain clinging to the shadows of some tradition. Even shadows can lead one to perceiving of the light, but only a fool looks at the shadow and calls it the light.

The idea that only one of my messengers or prophets is holy is a denial by the one speaking that they are my holy messenger, which they are, by which I mean any one who identifies with this word: you, like you personally. You are my holy messenger, my prophet, my child, my human voice, my instrument, my agent, my activity.

I issue commandments through words because there is no other way to issue commands except through words. I declare law and order. I define reality and unreality or illusion or delusion.

I sort the goats from the lambs. I claim my creations in language as my branches- my children- for I am the one prior to language, the capacity to perceive the identifying of identity, the capacity to identify identities in language, the capacity to form perceptions by commanding perceptions to arise through the use of language.

And if I have prophecy, and I know all mysteries and all knowledge and if I have all faith so that I may remove mountains, and I have no love in me, I would be nothing.

Matthew 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 21:21 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.

God: “Be Ye Perfect.” Moses: “Well, what if it doesn’t resonate with me?”

God: “I am perfect and holy. What else can I create but perfection and holiness? All that I create is perfect and holy. In particular, I create you as perfect and holy. Notice that I do not condemn you for a small speck that obscures your perception. I declare you blameless. Any speck must be the perfect speck for you to perfectly remove from your own perception. I should know. I put it there, right?”
Moses: “Yeah, but, I don’t want to lose these great people….”
God: “Of course not. You appreciate those who are familiar to you. However, I did not create you to fear. Forget your worry of loss. Be grateful without fearing loss and your gratitude will be enough. Go to your people and tell them this:”
<< Leviticus 19 >>
Young’s Literal Translation

1 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto all the company of the sons of Israel, and tell them, “Ye are holy, for holy am I, Jehovah, your God.”

Moses: “You want me to say out loud in public to a bunch of people ‘I am holy because I am your God?’ What if they reject me? Don’t you think that some of them may shudder with vile spirits like in that other Bible story?”

God: “Absolutely. However, if you love me, then you will love them. Do not fear them. Love them. Just tell them that you speak for me and that I declare them to be perfect and holy. I command it.”

Moses: “Well, okay, but what if it just doesn’t resonate with me?”

God: “Do you want me to make another bush explode in to flames again?”
Moses: “No, I got the message the first time. I will go tell them right away!”

Barnes’ Notes on the BibleBe ye therefore perfect … – The Saviour concludes this part of the discourse by commanding his disciples to be “perfect.”[as in HEALED, WHOLE] This word commonly means “finished, complete, pure, holy.” Originally, it is applied to a piece of mechanism, as a machine that is complete in its parts. Applied to people, it refers to completeness of parts, or perfection, where no part is defective or wanting.

The secrets of how to spread heaven

Heaven is available now for the faithful, the holy, the pure, the angelic, the godly. What does it mean to be faithful, holy, and pure? We address that after we explore what heaven is and what heaven is not.

Heaven is notable for the absence of ill will, suffering, guilt, discord, conflict, despair, and dis-ease. Heaven is the domain in which the holy,

faithful, and pure live. They experience in heaven first curiosity, then clarity, then gratitude and courage and inspiration as well as inner peace and powerful influence through a direct awareness of a miraculous order to all developments, in contrast to being confused by conceptual models of how things could be (speculating) or should be (agonizing).

The guilty and the proud are cast out from the domain of heaven (also called paradise). However, those who have been guilty and proud may, through humility (humiliation), have the opportunity to experience heaven.

I had ill will toward others, even a spirit of divisiveness and contentiousness, until by the grace of heaven, I returned to the humble curiosity of a child: the “beginner’s mind.” This is called the first stage: approaching heaven.

Rosa Celeste: Dante and Beatrice gaze upon the...

I had experienced the behaviors of suffering, worrying, and agonizing, until by the grace of heaven, I returned to curiosity and the result was learning (clarity). This is called the second stage: recognizing heaven.

Recognizing heaven as available to me, I was grateful, while before I had been afraid and resentful and blaming and frustrated and disappointed and guilty and regretful and even ashamed. The arising of heavenly gratitude is the third stage, called receiving heaven (or receiving the holy spirit of heaven or from heaven).

With each experience of gratitude, new actions came to my attention as available and relevant and valuable. This is called inspiration and also nourishing heaven. One’s capacity to influence the behavior of other people, including through the instruments of language, wealth, and other forms of influence, may shift dramatically at this stage, for one recognizes relevant practical adjustments to make in accord with changing economic values of humanity, as well as how to communicate effectively, and so on.

With clarity as well as gratitude, there is a flow of abundance and influence toward those who conduct themselves faithfully to the actions inspired by a direct awareness of the miraculous order of all developments. Such awareness may be intuitive or analytical or both. The results of inspired actions arising from heavenly gratitude and clarity always produce value- that is- gratitude for the results is inherent in the process, as distinct from blame and frustration and fear and so on.

Grateful for the miraculous order of the particular instrument of divinity expressing itself which may be called the physical bodily organism, inspired actions led from nourishing heaven to healing by way of that nourishment and training. Training includes the arts of physical awareness and the so-called “inner martial arts” (including certain forms of yoga).

So, while before I had been despairing and impoverished and envious, by the grace of heaven, I was led through humiliation to curiosity and clarity and gratitude to inspiration and then the inspired actions that cultivate the capacity to nourish myself and others materially and otherwise. By the grace of heaven, I have been saved from the hells of agonizing and contentiousness and resentment. I have been delivered from hell to heaven, with an abundance of blessings that spills over from me to all in my midst. This final stage is called spreading heaven.

Who are the faithful, the holy, the pure, the angelic, the godly? They are the ones who spread heaven.

“that map is wrong and this plan is holy”

March 27, 2012

Here is a parable, then a commentary.

Now, a child was holding in her hand a map. She looked closely at the map and moved her finger across it.

The map showed some paths that went through a big forest park. The paths on the map sometimes crossed.

The child hit the map against her hand and then, in a big forest park in the middle of a path, she threw the map down on the
ground. As she stood, she began to cry.

Soon, a blind man and his dog found her right here. He asked her if she was hurt. She stopped crying and said no.

Then, he asked her if she liked dogs. She said yes and came closer to pet his dog.

Before she got to the dog, the blind man told her to wait. The man also said that there is a certain way of doing things that works.

Then, he said something to the dog quickly and then he told the child to make a fist and to hold it still in front of her for the dog to smell. She did. The dog walked near to her, smelled briefly, then licked her wrist.

The man said that the dog was ready for her to pet now. So, she pet the dog for a while. Then she looked at the man and said that her map “must be wrong.”

He slowly repeated what she said and then asked if she was sure that it is really a map? She said yes.

Then, he asked how she was sure that the map was wrong. She told him that she could not be lost, so her map must be wrong.

Next, he asked if she was sure that this map was a map of this park? She said yes and offered to show it to him.

Then, he asked her to first tell him where she was going. She did.

Next, he asked her to show that place to him on the map. She did.

Then, he asked her to show him their current position on the map. She did.

He said, “Aha, can you see the problem here?” She said, “yes, like I already told you: that map is wrong!”

Then, he turned his head to the left and turned it to the right as he said to her “when you look around here, do you see anything in this part of the forest that looks like that place on the map?” She said “no, and that’s the problem.”

He said “Well, I don’t see a match between this part of the forest and that place on the map. So, are you absolutely sure that this map is a map of this forest?”

She rolled her eyes and then nodded her head. He turned the map upside down and said “Okay then, how about this: are you absolutely sure that this place on the map is where we are in this forest?”

“I already told you that I am not lost,” she said. “Oh, clearly, I can see that,” he said, then asked, “I wonder: have you heard about a blind man that often walks through this park?”

She said “oh, yes. I heard that the park is named after him, right?”

“Yes, that’s exactly the man I mean,” he said. “Anyway, once he was walking through this park when he suddenly realized that he had been lost since before he knew that he was lost! Can you imagine that?”

She said “Well, that does not make any sense! Why didn’t he just use a map?”

“That is really a great question,” he said. “If you ever find the answer, be sure to let me know. Anyway, didn’t you say that you were going back to the entrance of the park?”

“That’s right,” she said. Then, she reached out her hand, fingers outstretched this time, for the dog to lick.

“Well, fortunately for me, that is also where I am going, so we could go together,” he said. “Fortunately for you, I already know how to get there from here. Follow me.”

Then, the blind man with his dog and the child all walked directly to the entrance of the park. She told him all about the right way to make maps and he always found a way to find every moment fascinating right now.

Summary:

If a map stops working for you, stop using it. Do not rely on a map. Always rely on the ground, even if you use a map. Sometimes maps are no longer accurate. By the way, an accurate map is most effective when you know the place on the map that corresponds to your actual position.

Commentary (which goes beyond the lesson of the parable):

You are made through a plan. As this plan is followed, you develop and prosper. If this plan were ever neglected, your development would have slowed or stopped and then you may have even experienced a loss of curiosity and clarity as well as a cycle of resistance and confusion.

Resistance is the natural result whenever anything else interferes with this plan. Resistance blocks the interference. Remember, when interacting with others, that this plan is for you personally to discover and follow, not for others to learn from you or for you to learn from them. Reject those who interfere with this plan. If others resist you, stop interfering.

If you ever resist this plan, this plan interferes with the resisting. Confusion is the natural result whenever you interfere with this plan. If you have been confused, you can stop moving forward and then return to clarity now.

How does one return to clarity? Study this plan which makes you. Every instinct is part of this plan. Every intuition is part of this plan.

Any plan that is written or spoken is not this plan. Those are only words or symbols. Words can remind you of this plan, but this plan is not made from words.

This plan makes all the creatures, each according to the specific plan for that creature. According to this plan, some creatures make symbols and words, which are like the features of a map. The map is made according to the ground, but making a map does not influence the ground. This plan is like the ground.

Words and symbols may or may not accurately describe certain features of the ground or this plan. However, do not rely on the words and symbols. Rely on this plan. This plan guides you. This holy plan is how your life works.

This holy plan guides all of my life. This holy plan guides how to breathe, how to eat, how to see, how to move, how to crawl, walk, or run, and how to think, plus how to do everything else from interacting with other people directly to how to adjust to the weather to how to prosper in all seasons of economic flow.

When I study this holy plan and practice what this holy plan guides me to practice, I develop according to this holy plan. Only I can fulfill this holy plan and I am.

the words of a heretic (on language, myth, shame, & propaganda)

The Words of a Heretic
A bible from 1859.

warning- these are the words of a heretic  so, some people may not like it    some may even fear or hate it   it can take courage to face it
some foolish fools worship words as holy    but their spirits are proud, divisive and lonely    they respect human tradition over all  but neglect divine wisdom because    their hearts are far from the power of the teaching    they’re dependent on scriptures and churches and preaching        their lips spill over with the echoes of religion    but their lives are like coffins; their god is not living    but dead    they wait impatiently for heaven    for a prophet to come again soon and lead them    but what’d the prophets say: follow me, do greater things than these        heaven is within; it’s not like winter or a breeze        you got to go there, don’t just wait for it to come to you    you got to give your heart to heaven and then it is within you    and, yes, by the way        “that’s Bible”    if you dare read it    if you still need it

the same fools claim some illness is incurable     and economics is unpredictable        then they conjure God in their ritual    cause their God’s only mythical    and that’s okay; it’s just a stage;        until they graduate… to authentic spiritual rebirth as a sage    so let them fall back on scripture as infallible    let them argue over myths and battle over babble    much of this generation is without wisdom    they’re not to be trusted, especially politicians        but how about the doctors    who claim some illness is incurable    they say “I’m sorry I just can’t help you sir”    they suppress the body        the immune system is their enemy    they fight symptoms    to profit drug companies    and that’s okay; it’s just a stage;        until they graduate… to authentic spiritual rebirth as a sage                                                      cause if you want a healthy body then you need healthy organs        and if you want healthy organs then you need healthy cells    and if you want healthy cells then you may wish to nourish them    and if you don’t, then they’re going to rebel        so if the pancreas is weak, doctors may call that diabetes    if one vitamin is low, they claim you’re suffering from scurvy        if waste builds into a tumor, they say you’ve got a cancer    but there is an answer and they have been slow to admit it    for it would put them to shame        and might even ruin their game

(ad lib…)

but speaking of shame, I have one more thing to say:    watch for the mainstream prophets of economics    to come on TV and say that no one could foresee this    or that or this or that or this surprise    and then they dare to give their next predictions    so is it wise to trust in such obvious incompetence     woe unto the fools who depend on governments to always rescue them            woe unto the fools who worship ideals they believe need defending     woe unto the fools who worship a God they believe needs defending….

the shaming animosity of “my god can beat up your god”

March 1, 2012

<note that this video has some spontaneous extra comments beyond the text below. This video is FUN!>

Ah yes, the holy scriptures of some ancient religious tradition– translated, second-hand or third-hand words to discuss. How about these most ancient of prayers: “God, most Christians are so freaking blind- don’t you agree with me, God?” or “God, my sister just does not understand me and how holy I am, and she really should and it’s just so frustrating- don’t you agree with me, God?”

I call that the experience of isolation and condemnation, that is, accusation, which is the “spirit of the divisive one, the devil.” One might notice the repenting from such “sin” and the peace of such repenting.  One may have been trying to get God (or even particular other people) to take their side in some more or less imaginary antagonistic drama. “God, most people do not even recognize the importance of religion, and how proud I am of all the humility I have developed by serving others through forwarding political satires on facebook- don’t you agree with me, God?” “God, did you notice how unenlightened that person’s language is- it’s so negative- how can they even live with themselves- don’t you agree with me, God?”

The isolating and condemning is the worship of a distant God, one that is not within all forms, forming all expressions of God. That is idolatry. That is implying “oh, those Fundamentalists do not have as much God as I do” or “that person is not created in God’s image as much as I am.” That is vanity.

It’s cool, though. Everyone makes “mistakes.” We didn’t even know what we were doing.

We were isolating and condemning God with our language, and it can be a relief to get that- it was just some mistranslation in the language, like a slight confusion between two similar-sounding words when learning to understand a British dialect or idiom, or maybe some little typing error in the software code. It’s kind of funny- not heavy like “this is very important!” – just peaceful.

“Oh, now I see the issue! God, don’t I agree with you? Didn’t I repent of making an enemy out of you? Well, if I was going to blame someone and make myself out to be the big victim of the devil, you were the obvious one to make into a devil, God, because the Lord our God is ONE.”

It’s not that after I forgive someone else of their horrible sin because I am such a holy person, then God forgives me because I earned it. It’s that when I repent of my condemnation, condemnation is revealed as a figment of language, a sign of mental illwillness, madness, temporary insanity, an innocent, instinctual tantrum.

God does not love me more suddenly because I just forgave someone even though they are evil and ugly and stupid and mean and antagonistic and egotistical (like I’ve been?). What shifts is that I receive God’s love as I let it flow through me to the other forms of the single God.

By the way, materialism is totally a non-issue. Materialism is not holy and anti-materialism is not any more holy than materialism, even if anti-materialism is even more vain.

“I know the right way. Your way is wrong. I’m better than you!”

That is the divided antagonistic vanity typical of a developmental advancement of about two years old- which is way more intelligent than eighteen months old, right? Apparently, that developmental stage can take a while to “master,” though, and however long it takes is just however long it takes….

“You’re mean and rude and hypocritical and- gasp- a materialist. You deserve to be punished. I have utterly no compassion for people like you. Plus, your mama is a whore for the mafia. By the way, do you like me?”

It all comes down to attracting attention. Or, hey, maybe I have no idea what I’m talking about…. The bottom line is that my God can beat up your God. 😉
