Lyrics: “I do”

When you said yes, how did you feel                      You picked your dress and your high heels

You told your friends then Gramma Sue                and she said, “child, at the end of the night, do you know what he’s gonna do… to you?

And you just said, “I do.”

When the phone rang, and he heard the news  Tears wet his face, his dreams came true

His little girl would walk the aisle                               Right next to him, father of the bride

His heart would race when she would say, “I do.”

Ten years had passed, flew by so fast                     Gramma was gone, the kids hated math

Your dad said, “Hey, do you wonder how             things could have been by now    if you had never said “I do?”

And you said, “Dad, I used to, but no I don’t anymore, so what about you?”
and he said “Well, yeah, sometimes… I do.”

Then he said, “but here’s something I learned from your Gramma Sue… If I think about what I wish was different in the past

The only thing I’d change was all the time I’d wasted wishing for what isn’t.”

You said, “Yeah, Gramma could be rude, but she sure had some crazy wisdom.”

When you said yes, how did you feel                      You picked your dress and your high heels

You told your friends then Gramma Sue                And she said, “child, at the end of the night, do you know what he’s gonna do… to you?

And you just said, “I do.”
