should you feel guility for wanting to influence other people?

I consider that to be a bullshit response by Amy. (Also, this looks like one of those “canned” dialogues where the initial correspondent is a fictional concoction of the columnist- as distinct from a non-fictitious concoction).

“People have a right to be accepted by his parents for being exactly who…” Oh , Amy, did you know that your child is a necrophiliac rapist pyromaniac?

“But, you should not have any sense of concern for your child’s behaviors or any interest in influencing your children. Wanting to influence your children is a sure sign that you are wrong and evil and should feel guilty for eternity.”
