LIES… (that we believed)

She was who I blamed when I was ashamed

She was my excuse for what I didn’t do

I was ruled by guilt like all good little kids

follow Santa’s rules to earn your way to heaven

I want them to perceive that I’m how I should be

according to the myths that we call history

Lies… are what we told

Lies… that we believed

Lies… all of them sincere

Lies… but all of them naive

He was who I feared who I must condemn

to show my loyalty to show how brave I am

I hold my protest sign high up in the sky

While soldiers take their aim and wait for their orders

I want them to perceive that I’m how I should be

according to the myths that we call history

Lies… are what we told

Lies… that we believed

Lies… all of them sincere

Lies… but all of them naive

I can’t take one back Any of my regrets

I fuel my misery by rejecting sadness

I can’t make you see why you should forgive

all those who were blind starting with your eyes

Your past was not ideal according to some myths

will you reject the myths or will you reject your past
