lyrics: “I love you already”

Once upon a time a baby smiled as if to say “You’re the best. Wow, I love you already.”
Once upon a time a grandpa cried as if to say “it’s okay to feel afraid, child, because I love you already.”
It never happened that a baby said to a mother: “hey mom, you should be more. You’re such a bore!”
Could a baby look at you with a frightened shame of hateful blame- what do you say? Wouldn’t that be strange?
Whatever happened to our innocence, would you forgive the world if that would get it back? Or would you stay mad?
I got a ticket to heaven that you can have for free but there is a catch, you’d have to leave hell to pick it up from me.
I know I ask a lot but that’s the price you pay for heaven so make up your mind, or just take your time.
Once upon a time a dead man lied as if to say “You’re not real, so you shouldn’t feel how you feel.”

Today I said to someone “I love you already and I have for quite a while… maybe all along. Do you think that’s wrong?”
She said to me “you’re a freak. How can you speak of such things so suddenly- that’s insanity!”
Then two hours later when we finished talking she said “I love you, too,” well, just not in those words
If you listen close, trust speaks for itself while words can be such tricky things, unless there’s no such thing as fantasy

Once upon a time a baby smiled as if to say “You’re the best. Wow, I love you already.”
Once upon a time a grandpa cried as if to say “it’s okay to feel afraid, child, because I love you already.”

[Several hours after the two hour phone call referenced above, she texted me exactly as I was typing the line in bold (the one where I make specific reference to her). Next, I shared the above lyrics with her and then she texted me: “Very Nice. I may have freaked out a little when you first said it, But I did not call u a freak… just saying….”]
