The shift from naive complacency to conservatism is here. Those who understand what true conservatism means will recognize that extreme scarcity is equivalent to unique value. For decades, the voices of naivete have gathered together, claiming that there is safety in numbers. However, just because a huge concentration of people all buy lottery tickets, that only decreases the odds of winning. When huge concentrations of borrowers ravenously go in to debt to gamble on real estate speculation with borrowed money, the more widespread the extremism, then the more severe and sudden the encounter with reality.
